ABOUT ME
Born in the new millennium, I have grown up in a world that depends on technology for everything: school, medicine, business and especially entertainment. I grew up in Indiana with a religous, low-income family, so YouTube was an escape and it also showed me the world that I otherwise would never know about because of my upbringing. I knew from the time I was in middle school that I needed to express myself and branch out from the mold that I was born into.
Since then, I have paved the way for myself to get to where I am today. I joined the broadcast class in high school where I met my first love, Adobe Premiere Pro, and I’ve been editing ever since. My freshman year at Indiana University, I joined IUSTV and became a writer for a late night talk show, Not Too Late. This show prepared me for everthing I could possibly encounter, because we started as a multi-cam show, but because of conflicts with classes in our studio space, we transformed into a single-cam production. I was on set for almost four years doing anything I could–camera operating, audio, graphics, assistant directing and set managing. By the end of college, I was a writer, producer and the director.
My last semester at IU was spent in Los Angeles, taking classes and working two internships. Interning at two successful companies helped me see the scope of where I could branch out to when I made the leap to come back and try my hand at becoming successful in LA.
I graduated with a B.A. in Cinema & Media Arts with specializations in Editing & Post-Production and Narrative Filmmaking, and a minor in English Lit. from Indiana University, and moved back home. I worked at a multi-media production and marketing company as a Production Specialist, which is a fancy title for someone who literally does everything for productions–storyboarding, camera, gimbal operating, audio, voice-over, lighting and espcially editing. I spent a year making long and short-form content for clients that ranged from cookie shops to car dealerships.
Because I’ve always been the Swiss army knife of every group I’ve been in, I have proven to be a valuable asset to have on any team. Now, in Los Angeles, I am searching for more amazing opportunities to work with people who want to be a part of a well oiled machine. My ultimate goal is to either work as an editor for television or in casting for reality TV.
